Apostle Paul, Stricken by disease and not healed, or is it a wrong belief about God?
There is a certain belief in the Church that Paul’s thorn in the flesh was a sickness or a disease and that God left Paul to his own demise and Paul suffered from and not being healed.
Today I want to KILL THE SACRED COW once and for all. The Bible must interpret the Bible. Not our doctrine, not our opinions.
The term ‘thorn in the flesh’ is an Old Testament saying used thousands of years to describe a person who was irritating you.
Thorn in the flesh was not a sickness or a disease, the Bible must interpret the Bible, Thorn in the flesh was an old testament saying for someone who was irritating them through a demonic spirit, war, etc. Jesus never said no to healing, or it is not my timing, we have to get rid of our wrong beliefs and error doctrines. The Bible refers to a thorn in the flesh, each time, meaning the enemies of Israel. Here are some examples of Old Testament thorns in the flesh.
1.
But if you do not drive out the inhabitants (people) of the land, those you allow to remain will become ….. thorns in your sides.
Num 33:55
We read of something similar in Joshua 23:13 “……the LORD your God will no longer drive out these nations (people) from before you. But they shall be …. scourges on your sides and thorns in your eyes…” and again in Judges 2:3 “Therefore I also said, “I will not drive them (people) out before you, but they shall be thorns in your side…”
These passages clearly show that the Biblical meaning of a thorn in the flesh/side/eyes…, is referring to PEOPLE
It’s important for us to use the Bible to translate the Bible and not our modern-day interpretations. So when Paul asked God to remove His thorn 3 times, He was asking God to remove either a person or persons from his life.
I hope this is clear and stirs your hope and faith in God to believe for your miracle or healing
God bless
Daniel
